On Tuesday 7th March the ladies club celebrated Friends Day and our 60th Birthday. With over 20 visitors and friends and 30 Turramurra ladies we were always going to have a great celebration. Everyone arrived in colours of the rainbow, our theme for the day, in support of the Zaidee Foundation. Each lady received a pair of rainbow shoelaces to support the foundation and in keeping with the theme. The room was a sea of colour with the tables beautifully decorated. We managed to get everyone on the green for a pre-game photo with the number 60, and we were joined by Michelle and Sharon from the Community Bank Turramurra. The weather deteriorated and only a few ends of bowls were played, we had to adjourn to the clubhouse where we had some challenging trivia questions. The most fun part of the day turned out to be the 'What's in your handbag' where each table (rink) had to see what they could produce from a list of 30 items listed. There was some interesting adaptions and a great deal of laughter. A great celebration was shared by all with the cutting of our birthday cake by President Sue Hamilton and Patron Phyll Gregg, her last official duty before she heads north to her new accommodation.
